John Gregory Jacobs (September 30, 1947 – October 20, 1997) [1] was an American student and anti-war activist in the 1960s and early 1970s. He was a leader in both Students for a Democratic Society and the Weatherman group, and an advocate of the use of violent force to overthrow the government of the United States.

Led by Jacobs and other Weathermen members, the protesters suddenly broke through the police lines and rampaged through the Loop, smashing windows of cars and stores. However, the police were ready, and quickly sealed off the rioters.

At this convention the Weatherman's faction of the Students for a Democratic Society, planned for October 8–11, as a "National Action" built around John Jacobs' slogan, "bring the war home".

John G. Jacobs (born Sept. 30, 1947 in New York, New York) was one of the leaders of the Columbia University Students for a Democratic Society chapter during the riots in 1968. Jacobs went on to become one of the leaders of the Weather Underground Organization in 1969.
