It might seem Thomas Brown's 0-4 start as interim head coach would disqualify him in the Bears' hunt for a permanent head coach but he does have a few edges over others.

The Chicago Bears intend to interview interim head coach Thomas Brown for the permanent job. Brown took over for Matt Eberflus, who was fired Nov. 29 after Chicago's 4-8 start. The Bears lost Brown's first four games in charge before ending a 10-game skid Sunday by beating the host Green Bay Packers 24-22 on Cairo Santos' last-second field goal.

Brown has a long list of "foundational issues" — including a "one-focus mentality" — to discuss with general manager Ryan Poles when he interviews for the permanent job.
