During the Week 18 edition of ESPN’s “Sunday NFL Countdown,” Adam Schefter said he would expect NFL teams to reach out to Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian. Schefter shared the tidbit of information at the end of a segment where he predicted what the future holds for a handful of coaches who are on the hot seat.

Texas won their first-round matchup against Clemson 38-24 at DKR-Texas Memorial Stadium in Austin. The Longhorns barely survived the quarterfinal round, beating Arizona State 39-31 in the second overtime period on Wednesday.

The first College Football Playoff semifinal is set as (8) Ohio State and (5) Texas will meet in the Cotton Bowl on Friday, Jan. 10 with a spot in the College Football Playoff National Championship on the line. This will be just the fourth meeting all-time, and the first since 2009, between two of the sport's most storied program.
