The New York Police Department’s Harbor Unit pulled the remains out of the river near Governor's Island around 5:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Police made the gruesome discovery of a man’s torso floating off Manhattan near Governors Island in the East River on Wednesday. According to the NYPD’s Deputy Commissioner of Public Information, the NYPD Harbor Unit spotted a suitcase containing the remains around 5:30 p.
