Luke Littler 's first tournament as world champion ended in a quarter-final defeat as Stephen Bunting won the Bahrain Masters. The 17-year-old, who celebrates his milestone 18th birthday next week, was back at the oche for the first time since his memorable World Championship victory at Alexandra Palace earlier this month.

It was an emotional, and seemingly inevitable, weekend for teenage darts phenom Luke Littler. The 17-year-old defeated Michael van Gerwen, one of the game’s greatest players, 7-3 in the PDC World Darts Championship final on Friday night to become the youngest world champion in the history of the sport.
