Alabama won a recruiting battle against K-State and Nebraska for Ross when he signed with the Crimson Tide. But he held a total of 25 scholarship offers. Gabe Ervin, a 6-foot-1 and 220-pound, running back was the first to commit to K-State. Ervin entered the portal as a graduate transfer and will continue his college football career in Manhattan, where the Wildcats will look to use him as a power runner.

One of Alabama football’s transfer portal departures has found his new home. Defensive edge rusher Jayshawn Ross has committed to Kansas State, he announced on social media Tuesday. Ross spent one season with Alabama, and didn’t get much time on the field. He played only in the Crimson Tide’s win over Mercer late in the regular season.

Amari Jefferson is a crucial addition for the Vols, who lost five receivers to the portal in December. Jefferson should compete for a starting spot.
