A northwest Idaho community is still reeling after a 20-year-old man was suspected of fatally shooting two firefighters and injuring another after intentionally starting a fire to ambush them.

Roley had no known criminal record. Local police had five recent minor and non-violent interactions with Roley, whereby they asked him to move his vehicle from where he was parked.

Kootenai County Sheriff Robert Norris said on Sunday that it remains unclear whether Roley was shot dead by cops or died by suicide.
