National parks have been impacted by layoffs and budget cuts under the Trump administration, leading to staff reductions and the closure of visitor centers and services.

Demonstrators have gathered around the country in recent days to protest President Donald Trump’s firing of around 1,000 newly hired National Park Service employees and more than 3,000 U.S. Forest Service workers.

The permanent staff cuts could leave parks understaffed and facing tough decisions about operating hours, public safety, and resource protection.
