Lion attacks on humans were reported in three separate countries over the past week. In Lahore, Pakistan, a surveillance camera caught the horrifying moment an escaped pet lion leapt on a woman, and then pursued two children.

Several news sources say the woman lost her arm in the attack, but zoo officials said the lion will not be "put down or punished in any way."

A Queensland woman sustained serious injuries to her arm on Sunday when she was mauled by a lioness at the Darling Downs Zoo in Pilton, Australia. Zoo officials said via Facebook that the lioness “inexplicably” grabbed the woman’s arm while she was watching zookeepers tend to the enclosure before opening.
