DoorDash said its agreement to buy Deliveroo, a British food delivery service, in a roughly $3.9 billion deal would give it a larger footprint in Europe and a presence in the Middle East, covering millions of users in more than 40 countries.

DoorDash announced on Tuesday that it has acquired rival food delivery service Deliveroo and the SevenRooms restaurant technology company in separate deals.

DoorDash Inc. reached an agreement to buy the UK-based food-delivery platform Deliveroo Plc for about £2.9 billion ($3.9 billion), as the US company pushes into more overseas markets.
