LSU knocked previously unbeaten Coastal Carolina ace Jacob Morrison out of the game with a four-run fourth inning and the Tigers won their second national championship in three years Sunday with a 5-3 victory in the College World Series finals.

The LSU baseball team knocked off Coastal Carolina to claim the program's eighth national championship in the College World Series in Omaha. Jay Johnson's Tigers pulled away in the fourth inning.

With two outs, left fielder Derek Curiel singled up the middle to bring home Hernandez and Stanfield for a 5-1 LSU lead. That single chased Morrison from the game in what turned out to be his shortest outing of the season. It also was the most runs Morrison had allowed in a single game this season.
