Griffin enters the final round of the Memorial one stroke behind Scottie Scheffler and is looking like a contender for the U.S. Ryder Cup team.

The final day of the 2025 Memorial Tournament will feature Scottie Scheffler atop the leaderboard and trying to defend his 2024 title.

Griffin, like Scheffler, has won twice this year, most recently last week’s Charles Schwab Challenge. He also joined with Andrew Novak to capture the Zurich Classic of New Orleans two-man team event. The North Carolina native missed a three-foot par putt on the home hole for a 72 to slip one behind Scheffler at 209.

Burns is not the only notable name to make a move. Russell Henley fired a sensational 68 in the heaviest of rains while Jordan Spieth and Xander Schauffele drafted off each other late in the day into strong finishes to climb onto the first page of the leaderboard at 3 under and 2 under, respectively.

The field has been cut and two players sit tied atop the leaderboard as the Memorial Tournament opens its third day of competition. Ben Griffin finished the second day right where he finished the first: 7 shots under par and in first place.
