President Donald Trump arrived in Washington, D.C., early Tuesday morning after abruptly leaving the G7 summit in Canada to address the escalating conflict between Israel and Iran.

Israel and Iran have attacked each other for a fifth straight day on Tuesday with President Donald Trump urging Iranians to evacuate Tehran. Since the Israeli strikes on Friday, the two Middle Eastern rivals have exchanged blows, with Iranian officials reporting more than 220 deaths, mostly civilians, while Israel said 24 civilians had been killed.

In the span of about eight hours, President Donald Trump went from suggesting a nuclear deal with Iran remained “achievable” to urging Tehran’s 9.5 million residents to flee for their lives as he cut his visit to the international G7 summit short.
