South Carolina dropped both games remaining on their regular season schedule against Georgia and Tennessee to sit at 12-19 overall, as well as 2-16 in SEC play. The Gamecocks are now the conference's No. 16 seed, and will face Arkansas on Mar. 12 in the first round.
The SEC is on pace to match or exceed the Big East's record of placing 11 teams in the NCAA Tournament, which was set in 2011 when the conference had 16 members. Entering conference tournament week, there are 14 SEC teams with legitimate at-large hopes.
