A former tropical disturbance being watched by hurricane forecasters failed to form into a tropical depression before reaching the Louisiana coast, but it still threatens downpours and flash flooding as it marches inland on July 18,

There’s growing concern for another significant rain and flooding event this week, this time along the Gulf Coast, from what could become the Atlantic basin’s next tropical system.

Additional rainfall amounts of up to 1"-2" will be possible for much of Southeast Louisiana. Some locally higher totals will still be possible though. The National Hurricane Center (NHC) has been monitoring an area of low pressure, Invest 93-L. It now has a 0% of development as it moves through Southeast Louisiana.
