Gerald Coetzee will not take part in the 2025 Champions Trophy after the South Africa pacer complained of tightness in his groin while he was bowling at the Centre of Excellence in Pretoria on Wednesday.

South Africa's fast-bowling resources have taken a massive hit with Anrich Nortje, one of their leading pacers, already ruled out of the Champions Trophy due to a back injury. Gerald Coetzee, who was seen as a potential replacement for Nortje, is also unavailable for the SA20 tournament because of a hamstring injury.

South Africa will take six uncapped players to Pakistan this week for their tri-series against the hosts and New Zealand, coach Rob Walter said on Wednesday.
