Yet another round of light to moderate snow is ahead for West Michigan, but will come too late to produce school closings.

With sleet and snow now falling in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, many of the school districts that were waiting to make a decision about Friday have now announced closures.

Wichita Falls ISD and other school districts have announced closings or delayed start times for Friday. Note that districts often change their original plans on short notice due to weather concerns. Chillicothe ISD: Two hour delayed start. Electra ISD: Two hour delayed start. Iowa Park ISD: Two hour delayed start.

"All Austin ISD schools and offices will operate on normal schedules Thursday, Jan. 9, but due to rain and cold temperatures, all afterschool outdoor athletic activities will be canceled and any other outdoor activities will move indoors," Austin ISD wrote on Facebook.

Due to the threat of winter weather and possibility of unsafe road conditions Friday, several schools in central Alabama have announced they will be closed or having virtual learning.
