ASHBURN, Va. — Terry McLaurin did not report to Washington Commanders training camp Tuesday as the team’s top receiver seeks a new contract, according to ESPN and NFL Network. ESPN’s John Keim and NFL Network’s Nick Shook reported that McLaurin was absent from camp Tuesday. The team has not yet announced McLaurin’s status.

McLaurin was vital to Jayden Daniels' rookie of the year campaign last season. His All-Pro 2024 saw him lead all wide receivers in red zone touchdowns (10) and his 2.39 yards per route run ranked 20th among wideouts and stood as a personal record. However, he's slated for free agency in 2026 and has only $2.8 million in guarantees this fall.

The NFL season is starting to inch closer to its start as teams league-wide begin training camp this week. Since being drafted by the Commanders in the third round of the 2019 NFL Draft, McLaurin has been Washington's WR1.
