Long-time Sandler collaborator Steve Buscemi makes an early cameo in "Happy Gilmore 2." After Happy loses his grandma's house for a second time following Virginia's death, he and his daughter are forced to move to a seedier side of town. Buscemi plays their new oddball neighbor.
The wait is finally over. After 30 years, Adam Sandler is back as one of his most beloved characters in Happy Gilmore 2 (now streaming on Netflix). Reviews have been mixed, but fans are sure to love the nostalgia-ridden follow-up.
Hardcore fans of Happy Gilmore will remember the character of Donald, played by the late Joe Flaherty. In the film, he would constantly heckle Gilmore, shouting "Jackass" just as he was about to tee off. This time around, Eminem plays Donald's son, Donald Jr., who follows in his father's footsteps and yells the same insult.
Happy Gilmore 2 dropped on Netflix on July 25, 2025, nearly thirty years after the 1996 original. The film was helmed by Kyle Newacheck while Adam Sandler wrote the script with Tim Herlihy.
After much anticipation and a 29-year wait, Adam Sandler returned as the hot-tempered, big-hitting golf legend in “Happy Gilmore 2,” released on Netflix on Friday. As expected, the film was chock-full of cameos, many of them by real-life golfers and several of them with strong ties to the D-FW area.
