Cole's, the oldest restaurant in Los Angeles, is set to close. The claimed birthplace of the French dip sandwich will shutter after 117 years.

The iconic restaurant and bar cited the Covid-19 pandemic, crime, rising labor, goods and rent costs for the closure.

Federal immigration enforcement agents swept through MacArthur Park in the Westlake District of Los Angeles on Monday morning, prompting a surprise appearance by the mayor.

Joy Benedict reports from MacArthur Park, where Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass on Monday demanded that a large-scale immigration operation be shut down before calling it "outrageous and un-American."

They need to leave and they need to leave right now because this is unacceptable,’ Mayor Bass said of the federal agents.
