A total of 20 Mainers will spend two weeks providing relief in southern California, where resources have been stretched thin due to the magnitude of the ongoing fires.

Governor Mills says two crews from Maine- consisting of eight Forest Rangers and twelve volunteer firefighters – will assist in response and recovery efforts out west for two weeks.

Maine is sending a team of Maine Forest Rangers and volunteer firefighters to help battle the wildfires in southern California that have destroyed thousands of homes and killed at least two dozen people.
