The prospective arrival of AC Milan and Netherlands midfielder Tijjani Reijnders marks the start of a summer rebuild for Manchester City. Deposed as Premier League champions by Liverpool, City finished third last term and spent much of the second half of the campaign in a five-way fight for a Champions League berth - which was only secured on the final day.

This summer's transfer window, perhaps more than any other in recent years, is one where Manchester City have to get their business spot on.

In his end of season interview, chairman Khaldoon al-Mubarak promised that the Blues would move swiftly to rebuild the team after City finished trophyless for the first time since the 2016/17. And that promise is coming to fruition with the imminent signing of Reijnders.
