A major winter storm sweeping much of the U.S. was producing heavy snow and ice as it threatened areas from the Central Plains through Mid-Atlantic — leaving tens of millions under weather alerts Sunday.

With the cold air not going anywhere anytime soon, the groundwork is laid for our next winter storm to move into the Tri-State Area.Sunday looks to be very similar to Saturday, with a bit less cloudiness and wind.

More than 60 million people across over a dozen states will be impacted by a major winter storm through Monday evening.
