Mayo Clinic is suing Sanford Health Plan over more than 700-thousand dollars’ worth of medical bills. The Rochester, Minnesota-based Mayo Clinic filed the lawsuit in Minnesota District Court a few weeks back in December.

Rochester's Mayo Clinic is suing health insurer Sanford Health Plan for not paying claims for a patient who was at Mayo Clinic for 52 days in 2022. In the lawsuit, Mayo Clinic alleges the patient was transferred to Rochester from North Dakota to receive a higher level of care.

Christopher Snowbeck at the Star Tribune reports the Mayo Clinic has sued the health plan division of Sanford Health, saying misrepresentations by the South Dakota-based insurer have stuck the medical center in Rochester with more than $700,
