The Oregon Zoo’s newest resident, baby Asian Elephant Tula-Tu is getting ready to make her big debut. The baby is just weeks old and now she’ll be able to be seen by the public starting Friday. She’ll be inside Forest Hall with the rest of her herd.

Oregon Zoo’s Asian Elephant Calf Has a Name: Tula-Tu
The Oregon Zoo has determined that the newest member of its Asian elephant herd is indeed a girl, and given her a name: Tula-Tu. Oregon Zoo director Heidi Rahn made the announcement live on NBC’s Today show this morning. Tula means “balance” in Sanskrit, Rahn said.
