A second earthquake has hit the New York and New Jersey area in a matter of days.The magnitude 2.7 tremor was reported to have occurred in New Jersey Tuesday afternoon, leading to warnings being issued in the Big Apple.

The quake's epicenter was in Hasbrouck Heights, New Jersey. No injuries or structural damage was reported shortly afterward, said Jonathan Tytell, a geophysicist at the USGS.

The quake comes days after another magnitude 3.0 temblor hit New Jersey on Aug. 2 and was felt as far as New York. A magnitude 2.7 earthquake rattled parts of New York and New Jersey around midday on Aug.
