BOSTON — Star rookie Kristian Campbell again is not in the Red Sox lineup Monday. The Red Sox and Mets will play the first game of their three-game series at Fenway Park at 6:45 p.m. Boston manager Alex Cora is skipping the game to attend his daughter’s Boston College graduation.

Kristian Campbell is out of the lineup for the second consecutive game. The rookie infielder (and sometimes outfielder) didn’t play in Sunday’s Atlanta Braves series finale, a 10-4 loss that dropped the Red Sox to 23-25 on the season.

The Boston Red Sox have recently started to at least lay the groundwork for a big change. Kristian Campbell has started taking grounders at first base as the club tries to replace Triston Casas. We’ll see what happens,
