Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has said he and his teammates are not satisfied despite earning a draw at league leaders Liverpool, asking why his team cannot perform similarly every week.

Once captain at Sporting, Fernandes was named permanent United skipper in July 2023 when he took over the armband from Harry Maguire. United supporters had repeatedly called for Fernandes to be handed the armband on a permanent basis, yet once acquired, the fickle nature of football fans struck amid claims from some to change the skipper.

United's latest defeat was an 0–2 loss at the hands of Wolverhampton Wanderers, who came into boxing day in the relegation places. Amorim's side looked lackluster from the start, but things worsened when captain, Bruno Fernandes, got sent off for the second time this Premier League season.
