Grand Canyon wildfire grows to 'megafire' status: 'I've never seen anything like it'
A fierce blaze that has burned along the Grand Canyon's North Rim since being sparked by lightning on July 4 has exploded in size in recent days, reaching "megafire" status and becoming the largest wildfire in the U.S. this year, according to the Arizona Republic.
The Dragon Bravo Fire added another 10,000 acres to its footprint as its swath of destruction surpassed 100,000 acres.
Dragon Bravo Fire becomes the largest U.S. wildfire of the year, burning over 105,000 acres with only 9% containment.
