If you're looking for a self-drive you can ask a travel agent to arrange the vehicle, provide an itinerary and book the hotels. I'd contact Iceland Encounter or GJTravel in Iceland.
If it’s just at ground level 30 mins should be adequate. If you want to reach the upper levels allocate 1& 1/2 hours to 2 hours dependent on your exploring needs.
